Blackpool Coastlines is the primary operator of local public transport services in and around the Fylde coast conurbation. Coastlines was one of the frontrunners in constructing a "next generation" Light Rail network, as well as installing colour coded route branding across it's network.

In addition to normal day to day operations, Blackpool Coastlines also caters for the large numbers of tourists who visit the area each year. Seasonal bus services operate between tourist attractions and local holiday centres during the summer. In addition to this, special "heritage" trams run between Bispham Red Bank Road and Sandcastle Pleasure Beach, augmented during the illuminations by unique decorated trams such as the "Western Train" and "HMS Blackpool".
